#14 Davis College Downs #20 Five Towns College

Five Towns College Men's Basketball, who was ranked #20 in the Week 4 USCAA Coaches Poll, dropped a game to #14 Davis College Wednesday evening by a score of 87-71. The loss moves the Sound to 4-5 overall, 3-3 in the USCAA.

After a tight first half which ended with Davis College up 37-35, the Falcons began to open the lead in the second half. A scoring run put the Falcons up by 11 with five minutes remaining in the game.

All five starters for the Sound scored double-digit points, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Falcons. The Falcons, led by Corban Usry with 21 points, shot 40% as a team, including nine 3-pointers.

Kyree Sawyer led the Sound in scoring with 27 points, shooting 50% from the field. Sawyer remains on the USCAA scoring leaderboard at #3 with 24.1 points. Corey Jacques contributed 13 points and John Francois added 11. Anthony Priest and Nigel Braithwaite Jr. each contributed 10 points in the effort.

The men's next game is against Bryant & Stratton on Saturday at 3:00 PM. The two teams have previously faced each other at the Penn State Scranton Tip Off Tournament, which Bryant & Stratton won 78-58.
