Five Towns College Announces Tom Williamson as Women's Soccer Head Coach

Five Towns College Athletics has announced Tom Williamson as the Women's Soccer Head Coach.

Williamson joins the Sound after working as an Assistant Coach for the LIU Post Women's Soccer team for the past four seasons. During his time there, he helped coach the Pioneers to the four NCAA Tournament runs, twice making it to the final 16. LIU Post was ranked 12th in the nation for the 2018 end of season poll.

"It is with great pleasure to announce Tom Williamson as our Women's Soccer Head Coach. He is the clear choice to lead our program and a rising star within the women's soccer community. I look forward to watching his success on the pitch and lay the foundation for the future. We welcome Tom to the Five Towns College Family." stated Athletic Director Matt Guercio upon Williamson's hiring.

Williamson is also the Director of Coaching for the Bellport Soccer Club. In this position, he has been responsible for the growth and development of players, parents, coaches, and trainers throughout the club.

"First and foremost, I would like to thank Athletic Director Matt Guercio for handing me this exciting opportunity as the program's first ever head coach." stated Williamson. "From the moment I met with Matt on campus, the untapped potential of the college, coupled with both a long and short term vision for the Athletic Department made my decision an easy one to make. I truly hope that myself, Matt, and the rest of the FTC family can create a program that all students, faculty, and alumni can be proud to represent for many years to come."

Williamson's previous experience includes time spent with UK Elite Soccer, NOGA Soccer, and the New York Red Bulls Training Programs.

Originally from Kent, England, Williamson earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management from Coventry University in the United Kingdom. His other qualifications includes the USSF D License, USSF Director of Coaching Diploma, USSF National Youth License, United Soccer Coaches Premier License, and United Soccer Coaches Regional Goalkeeping License.

For the 2018-19 academic year, Williamson's primary responsibility will be recruiting athletes to build a team ready to compete in the Fall 2019 season.

All prospective athletes should email Coach Williamson at and fill out the Prospective Student-Athlete Form.
