Dix Hills, NY - Five Towns College men's soccer Freshman midfielder Anthony Molina earned the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week.
Molina was an instrumental player in the Sound's 10-0 win over Villa Maria on Saturday, controlling the midfield and being a key playmaker through 90 minutes. Molina totaled one goal and two assists in the match. He scored his third goal of the season in the 13th minute. After a mistouch by the defender, he volleyed the bouncing ball at the 18-yard line to finish lower left.
Molina assisted on one of William Rivera's goal directly off a corner kick, and assisted on a goal by Adrian Wong when Luis Mendez gave Molina a short pass off a corner kick for the cross into the box, that Wong volleyed just inside the left post.
Freshman Adrian Wong scored two goals and an assist in the 10-0 win over Villa Maria, and is the team's leading scorer with 13 goals on the season. Freshman Jennifer Xiong scored two goals in the women's soccer 6-3 loss to Villa Maria. Junior Emily Angelastro totaled 34 digs and six aces in volleyball's 0-2 week.
