As a team, Five Towns shot an impressive 57.8% from the field (26-45). This is the best shooting percentage in a single game since the start of women's basketball at Five Towns College in 2016. The previous best came last season at 47.6% (40-84 FG) in a victory over Vaughn College on December 5th, 2018. Current Sophomore Rasauna Melendez led the scoring in that game with 42 points behind 59% shooting (16-27 FG, 4-12 3PT).
Freshman forward Lanasia Drain contributed 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds, just narrowly missing a double-double in her first game for the Sound. Ten points from Jones and a 12-0 scoring run to close out the last four minutes of the third quarter gave Five Towns the lead at 40-34. Most of Jones' points came in the fourth quarter as 15 points from 6-11 shooting would help to secure the win for the Sound.
