Jones Named HVIAC Player of the Week

Dix Hills, NY - Five Towns College women's baskeball Junior guard Ariana Jones was named HVIAC Player of the Week. Jones is a transfer from Monroe College where she played basketball for the Express for two seasons.

In a 1-1 week for the women's basketball team, Jones averaged 30 points per game, and four rebounds per game. In the 62-48 win over Word of Life, Jones dropped 31 points on 50% shooting (13-26) to go along with one block, and added 29 points, nine rebounds, and two assists, one steal, and one block in a loss to Albany Pharmacy.

Also earning recognition for the HVIAC Honor Roll is women's basketball player Lanasia Drain, and men's basketball players Kyree Sawyer and Eric Romero. Drain scored 14 points (6-9 FG) with eight boards and two blocks in a 62-48 win over Word of Life. Sawyer lifted the Sound to a league win over Word of Life with a game-high 29 points and averaged 24.5 and 7.0 rebounds over two games. Freshman Romero averaged 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and a steal over a 1-1 week for Five Towns.
