Dix Hills, NY - The Five Towns College women's basketball team moves to 2-3 on the season with an 87-25 victory over Webb Institute on Tuesday evening. Four players reached double-digit scoring in the team's effort.
Junior guard Ariana Jones led the scoring for the Sound with a game-high 31 points, tieing her season high. She also had seven assists and five steals, both good for her season-best. Jones now averages 22.4 points per game. Destiny Martinez scored 22 points to go along with five assists and five steals.
Jada Roberts-Duncan and Lanasia Drain both scored a double-double for the Sound. Drain put up an impressive line of 23 points and 20 rebounds on 73% shooting. She added five assist and three blocks. Roberts-Duncan scored 11 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
Five Towns caused 18 turnovers by Webb, and converted them into 24 points. The Sound took only five shots from behind the arc, as they relied on inside shooting and scored 60 points in the paint.
