Women's Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets in Season Opener

Dix Hills, NY - The Five Towns College women's volleyball team opened its inaugural season with a tough matchup against the Cairn University Highlanders (1-3). The Sound dropped the contest in three straight sets (7-25, 8-25, 9-25).

Cairn's Lyntia Gwess, an All-CSAC Second Team player in 2018, led the game in kills with 10 (.316%). Lanasia Drain led Five Towns in kills (3) and had the team's lone service ace of the game. Junior libero Emily Angelastro led the team in digs with seven, and had 23 service receptions.

The women's volleyball home opener is Tuesday, September 10th at 7 PM. Five Towns College will look for its first win of the season against Union County College (0-3).
