Women's Volleyball Releases 2019 Schedule

Dix Hills, N.Y. – Five Towns College women's volleyball head coach Christy Herring has announced the inaugural 2019 season schedule. The Sound will be competing in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) as a member of the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC).

The schedule includes 15 total contests; nine home contests will be played on the Five Towns College campus. All home games will feature live stats and video stream. The full 2019 schedule can be viewed here.

The Sound will open up the season with an exhibition match at York College on August 27, before the official season starts the second week of September.

"The first volleyball season here at Five Towns College is upon us and with that comes excitement and anxiousness. We are putting in the hard work and preparing physically and mentally." stated head coach Christy Herring. "This season I am sure will be filled with many firsts but even more victories, beyond the wins and loss columns. I am super excited to start this volleyball legacy here and cannot wait to see what the season brings us!"

Five Towns begins the season with an away match versus Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania on September 7. The Sound home opener will take place at Five Towns College on Tuesday, September 10 against Union County College.

The women will play five more matches through the month of September, all taking place in the Five Towns gym. The team will play Anna Maria College (September 13) and Fisher College (September 18) before taking on their first HVIAC opponent in Culinary Institute on September 21. To finish out the month, Word of Life Bible Institute will visit Dix Hills on September 27, with New Hampshire Technical Institute making the trip on September 29.

Heading into October, the Sound will visit Bronx Community College (October 3) before the first tri-match of the season, taking place at Pratt Institute. Five Towns will play Pratt and Sarah Lawrence College on October 5.

The team returns home on October 9 for a contest against HVIAC oppenent King's College before hosting a tri-match of our own. The Five Towns hosted tri-match will be on Sunday, October 13 and will include Penn State Scranton and Pratt Institute.

To finish out the inaugural season, Five Towns will play two contests on the road; first visiting King's College on October 20, with the final match of the season at Purchase College on October 23.
