Dix Hills, NY - Five Towns College women's volleyball Junior libero Emily Angelastro and Freshman middle blocker Lanasia Drain earned Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) weekly honors. Angelastro earned the Women's Volleyball Player of the Week, while Drain earned Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.
Angelastro totaled 22 digs, 14 service aces, six assists, and four kills in the 1-1 week for Five Towns. She posted 12 service aces, including five consecutive in the second set, and nine digs in the Sound's first win in program history in a three-set victory over HVIAC opponent Culinary Institute. The junior added 13 digs against Fisher and currently leads the HVIAC in aces and digs per set.
Drain totaled 22 kills and a service ace over two games last week. She led Five Towns with 17 kills to make history for the Sound over Culinary Institute. Drain currently leads the team in kills and points for the season.
Freshman William Rivera posted a pair of assists in the men's soccer 6-0 win over Williamson College of the Trades; Sophomore Adrian Santos scored a hat trick in the shutout victory. Freshman Jennifer Xiong put her name in the record books as she scored the first goal in Five Towns College history in the match against Albany Pharmacy on Sunday.
