The Women's Basketball team had another great display of teamwork Saturday afternoon as they defeated Word of Life Bible Institute 77-22. Four players scored double-digits, as the team also had double-digits in assists (12) and steals (24).
Chloe Walton led the scoring with 34 points, while tallying 9 steals and 7 assists, good for a career high. Denisha Allen and Jada Roberts Duncan each had a double-double. Allen had 12 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, and Roberts Duncan had 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Sound converted 33 Word of Life turnovers into 31 points. Rasauna Melendez added to the scoring with 17 points of her own.
The Sound controlled the boards, as they outrebounded Word of Life 54-41. The team turned 20 offensive rebounds into 19 second-chance points. The majority of the scoring came from driving to the basket, as 52 of the team's 77 points were scored in the paint.
The women return to action on Thursday, November 8th when they take on the Yeshiva Maccabees at 7 PM at Five Towns College. The men's game will follow shortly after at 8:30 PM against Touro College.
