Men’s Basketball Battles Through Early Challenges, Looks to Bounce Back
The Men’s Basketball team has had a tough start to the season, currently holding a 2-6 overall record. Despite the challenging results, the team has shown flashes of brilliance and a fighting spirit that promises an exciting second half of the season. With two convincing wins and several close contests, the team is eager to turn things around as conference play approaches.

The season has included a mix of hard-fought games and tough losses, with two standout victories over Vaughn College.
Game-by-Game Recap
The season opened on Nov. 6 against Touro College. Unfortunately, the high-scoring season opener ended in a narrow loss despite a strong offensive showing 96-87.
On Nov. 9th the team traveled to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and although the team fought hard on the road, they couldn’t overcome Albany’s balanced attack falling 96-75.
One week later, Nov. 16th, the Sound returned home to take on Vermont State University - Randolph and dropped a tough one, 73-66. In one of the closest games of the season, the team fell short in the final minutes after a late run.
The next game saw the men take on USMMA and fell short after another tough battle, 77-67. This competitive matchup saw the team come up just short against a very strong opponent.
The following two contests were a home & away battle with Vaughn College. The road game saw the Sound take the victory 89-74 as the team secured their first win of the season in dominant fashion on the road, showcasing their offensive potential.
The home contest took place on Dec. 4 where the team secured a 98-72 win. In the rematch at home, the team delivered their best performance of the season, lighting up the scoreboard with 98 points.
After two victories the next contest took place at the Sound gymnasium on Dec. 14th vs. Bucks County Community College. This was a heartbreaking loss in a closely contested game that could have gone either way, 77-72.
This past weekend the team ventured down to Pennsylvania to battle Central Penn College and despite a strong effort, the team fell short in another high-scoring affair, 97-85.

The team’s veterans, led by Eian Williams with a team-high 147 points, have been instrumental in keeping the squad competitive. Meanwhile, freshmen Jon Espinal and Patrick Harrington have made impressive debuts, combining for 216 points so far this season.
