Five Towns College Battles to 1-1 Draw Against Bryant & Stratton Rochester in Hard-Fought USCAA Matchup
Dix Hills, NY — In a tightly contested USCAA conference matchup, the Five Towns College men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against Bryant & Stratton College – Rochester on Saturday afternoon. The result marks the second straight tie in conference play for the Sound, who showed resilience and discipline against one of the league's perennial contenders.
The match featured high-level play from both sides, with each team trading momentum and capitalizing on limited opportunities. Bryant & Stratton started the scoring in the second half, leading to a Five Towns College penalty kick goal.
Following the game, Head Coach Jason Fiscina offered his thoughts on the performance and the significance of another positive result in conference play.
"Getting results in conference is always crucial," said Fiscina. "Both programs we played against are top contenders in the USCAA, so it's always good to play well against them. That being said, tomorrow's matchup is another opportunity that we must be prepared for."
Five Towns held firm defensively throughout the match. Fiscina credited the collective effort and composure of the squad in managing the game's physicality and intensity.
"I think our back line handled the pressure well today," Fiscina said, referencing the performance of Andy Alfonso and Raffaele Pisani. "They both anchored us well today and have done well this season. Their chemistry together is improving with each match."
Five Towns College equalizer came via a in box penaty kick from Andre Hickling, their designated penalty taker.
"Andre is our PK taker," Fiscina noted. "He has been successful taking them throughout his career."
The game also saw key moments from younger players, including Paolo Reyes, who stepped into the starting lineup after an injury to Jose Garcia during warmups, and Gabe Santos, who provided a steadying presence off the bench.
"Paolo came in and played solid for us," said Fiscina. "Also felt Gabe Santos had a calming influence off the bench."
With the draw, Five Towns College continues to hold its place in a tightly packed USCAA playoff race. The Sound will turn their attention quickly to their next challenge as they prepare for another conference showdown tomorrow.
Kickoff for their next match against Bryant & Stratton is set for 11:00 AM, 9/21/2025 at FTC Field.
