Five Towns College Sound Edge Out Bryant & Stratton Buffalo in 2-1 Victory
DIX HILLS, NY — The Five Towns College Sound continued their strong run in the North American Conference for Intercollegiate Athletics (NACIA) with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bryant & Stratton College – Buffalo on Saturday.
Leading the charge for the Sound was standout forward Danny Valverde, who delivered a stellar performance with two goals, securing the win for FTC and further solidifying his role as one of the team's key offensive threats.
The match kicked off with intensity, as both teams pushed for early control. Valverde opened the scoring in the first half, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Bryant & Stratton - Buffalo to put the Sound up 1-0. Bryant & Stratton responded shortly after the break with an equalizer, applying pressure and testing FTC's backline.
But Valverde wasn't done. Midway through the second half, he struck again with a clinical finish inside the box, putting the Sound ahead 2-1 — a lead they would hold onto despite a late push from the visitors.
Head Coach Jason Fiscina praised his squad's resilience: "We knew this would be a battle, and I'm proud of how the team stuck together. Danny stepped up when we needed him, and the whole team earned this win."
With this result, Five Towns College improves its record in NACIA play and looks ahead to its next matchup with momentum and confidence.
