Five Towns College Women Hold Off Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) for Key Conference Victory
Dix Hills, NY – January 17, 2026 – The Five Towns College women's basketball team earned a hard-fought 78-74 NACIA conference victory over Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) on Saturday afternoon at home, improving to 5-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
In a competitive matchup that came down to the final minutes, Five Towns relied on a dominant interior presence from Geormaya Davis, who delivered the game's top performance. Davis recorded a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds while shooting an efficient 10-of-13 from the field. She added 2 assists and a block in 35 minutes, anchoring the paint on both ends of the floor.
"Geormaya was a force today," said the Five Towns head coach. "She controlled the boards, finished through contact, and gave us consistency inside when we needed it most. That was a leadership performance."
Five Towns outrebounded Bryant & Stratton 62-42, including 23 offensive rebounds that created crucial second-chance opportunities. The team shot 43.8% from the field and pulled away with a strong fourth-quarter offensive surge, shooting 69.2% in the final period to withstand a late push from the visitors.
Des Bishop contributed 14 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals in an all-around effort, while Riley Maxwell added 11 points and 8 rebounds. The Lady Sound combined for 19 assists as a team, showcasing balanced ball movement throughout the contest.
Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) was led by Marisela Santos, who scored 17 points on five three-pointers, and Aryn Harris, who added 16 points. However, Five Towns' dominance on the glass and Davis' inside efficiency proved to be the difference.
With the win, Five Towns continues to build momentum in conference play and will look to carry that energy into its next matchup.
