Raine Mears Named NACIA First Team All-Conference as Five Towns College Captures Conference Championship

Dix Hills, NY — Five Towns College proudly announces that Raine Mears has been selected to the North American Conference for Intercollegiate Athletics (NACIA) Women's Basketball First Team All-Conference, recognizing her outstanding performance during the 2025–26 season and her key role in leading the Sound to the NACIA Conference Tournament Championship.

A cornerstone of the Five Towns lineup, Mears started all 22 games this season while averaging 28.0 minutes per game. She emerged as one of the team's most reliable offensive weapons, leading the Sound with 332 total points and averaging 15.1 points per game. Her ability to create scoring opportunities both on and off the ball made her a constant threat for opposing defenses.

Mears demonstrated her versatility as a perimeter scorer, connecting on 49 three-pointers during the season while shooting 37.8% from the field overall. She also proved dependable at the free-throw line, converting 59-of-87 attempts (67.8%).

In conference play, Mears elevated her performance even further. Over 12 NACIA conference games, she averaged 17.3 points per game, shooting 40.2% from the field while knocking down 33 three-pointers. Her scoring ability and composure in key moments helped guide Five Towns through a competitive conference schedule and into the postseason.

Beyond her scoring, Mears contributed across the stat sheet. She totaled 108 rebounds (4.9 per game), including 84 defensive rebounds, while also adding 37 assists, 53 steals, and 12 blocks. Her defensive energy and ability to impact the game on multiple levels were instrumental throughout the Sound's championship run.

Mears' leadership and consistent play helped propel Five Towns College to a 12–12 overall record and a 7–7 mark in NACIA conference play, culminating in the team's victory in the NACIA Conference Tournament.
