Layla Ford Earns NACIA Second Team All-Conference Honors; Geormaya Davis Named Honorable Mention as Five Towns Captures NACIA Championship
Dix Hills, NY — Five Towns College proudly announces that Layla Ford has been named to the North American Conference for Intercollegiate Athletics (NACIA) Women's Basketball Second Team All-Conference, while Geormaya Davis received NACIA Honorable Mention recognition following outstanding performances during the 2025–26 season. Their contributions played a major role in leading the Sound to the NACIA Conference Tournament Championship.
Ford was a key playmaker and consistent presence for Five Towns throughout the season. Appearing in 21 games with 20 starts, she averaged 26.9 minutes per game while contributing across multiple statistical categories. Ford finished the year with 201 total points (9.6 points per game) while adding 137 rebounds, averaging 6.5 rebounds per contest, one of the top marks on the team.
In addition to her scoring and rebounding, Ford played an important role as a facilitator, recording 53 assists on the season and averaging 2.5 assists per game. Her versatility allowed her to impact games both offensively and defensively, while her ability to control the pace and distribute the ball made her an important component of the Sound's offensive system.
Ford continued to perform at a steady level in conference play, appearing in 11 NACIA games and averaging 9.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while adding 26 assists. Her consistency and leadership helped guide Five Towns through conference competition and into the postseason.
Davis also played a pivotal role in the Sound's championship run, earning NACIA Honorable Mention honors after delivering a strong all-around season. Appearing in 22 games with 10 starts, Davis averaged 10.4 points per game while shooting an impressive 46.6% from the field. She was especially effective on the boards, collecting 137 total rebounds and averaging 6.2 rebounds per game, including 77 offensive rebounds, which helped create numerous second-chance scoring opportunities.
During conference play, Davis elevated her production even further. Over 12 NACIA games, she averaged 13.0 points per game while shooting 50.8% from the field, along with 5.5 rebounds per contest. Her efficient scoring and physical presence in the paint were key factors in the team's success throughout the conference schedule.
Together, Ford and Davis were integral pieces of a Five Towns team that finished the season 12–12 overall and 7–7 in conference play, before making a strong postseason run to capture the NACIA Women's Basketball Conference Tournament Championship. Their effort, leadership, and consistency helped fuel the Sound's championship performance and highlighted the strength of the program this season.
