Women's Volleyball Runner-Up in HVIAC Tournament

Dix Hills, NY - The Five Towns College women's volleyball team competed as the #3 seed in the HVIAC Women's Volleyball Tournament, taking on #2 King's College. The Sound went into the game with a 3-13 overall record, 1-2 in conference. The King's Lions had a 11-6 overall record, 2-1 in conference.

Before the start of the game, the HVIAC All-Conference selections were announced. Junior Libero Emily Angelastro was named All-Conference for Five Towns; she led the conference in digs with 254 and was 4th in service aces with 46, and also ends the season as the Sound's leader in both categories.

King's defeated Five Towns in straight sets (25-9, 25-12, 25-15) to earn the HVIAC Championship title.  The game-leader in kills was King's Alex Kemsley (11), who also took home HVIAC Rookie of the Year. King's setter Abby Roth was named tournament MVP with 21 assists, seven service aces, and three kills.

Lanasia Drain led the Sound in kills with seven, and Chloe Walton contributed two; the pair also had one block solo each. Drain ends the season as the team's leader in kills with 134, while also adding 14 service aces and 15 total blocks. Anna Matytsina ends the season as second on the team in kills with 78, and second in digs with 167.

The women's volleyball team will return to action for the 2020-21 season, with Five Towns College hosting the HVIAC Women's Volleyball Championship.
