Five Towns College Athletics to Add Cross Country in 2021
Dix Hills, NY - Five Towns College Athletic Director Matt Guercio has announced that men’s and women’s cross country will begin competition as a varsity sport for the 2021-2022 season. The teams will compete in the fall 2021 in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC). With cross country coming on board, Five Towns College increases the number of varsity sports to nine.
"The addition of cross country has been in discussions for a while now and we are extremely grateful for today’s announcement," said Guercio. "The sport is in line with our long term plan of the athletics department and will provide prospective student-athletes another opportunity to compete at the collegiate level. Long Island is a running community which will allow us to attract home-grown talent and great runners from the surrounding states."
Prospective student-athletes interested in being a member of the cross country team can complete the Prospective Student-Athlete Form or email [email protected].
