Four Players Score Hat Trick Versus Pratt Institute

Dix Hills, NY - The Five Towns College men's soccer team (2-0-1) defeated Pratt Institute (0-3-1) Saturday afternoon in a game that saw 18 goals and nine assists from the Sound, including four players each scoring a hat trick.

Robinson Munoz, Luis Mendez, and William Rivera scored three goals a piece. Munoz and Mendez also contributed two assists each, and lead the team in assists with five on the season through three games.

Freshman Adrian Wong also scored his second hat trick in as many games this week, and is the team's leading scorer with six goals on the season. Wong had three goals and an assist versus Webb Institute on Wednesday evening and put up the same stat line Saturday.

Five Towns opened up the scoring just 15 seconds into the game and never let up. Adrian Santos, who scored the first goal in Five Towns history Wednesday evening, scored the first goal as he knocked the ball away from a defender, which Adrian Wong fed back to him inside the 18-yard box to finish past the diving goalie. Santos would finish the day with two goals and an assist in 31 minutes of play.

Anthony Molina scored his first goal of the season in the 31st minute. Molina controlled a chip pass over the defensive line and dribbled into the 18-yard box before finding the back of the net. The Sound scored two goals in the final minute of the first half. Pierre Shashkin finished off a pass from Bassm Ismail, and Ismail added a goal of his own 20 seconds later just before the whistle to lead 10-0 at halftime.

Goalie Mouhamed Diop Dia did not face a shot on goal until the 35th minute when he saved a shot off a Pratt set piece 20 yards out, and then saved a rebound shot just in front of the net. Following up his two saves, Diop Dia sent a punt down the field to Adrian Wong who two-touched the ball past the goalie for his first goal of the game, crediting Diop Dia with the assist. Diop Dia finished the day with two saves and one goal allowed after a Pratt penalty kick in the 61st minute.

The men will travel to Pennsylvania for the first away game of the season on Wednesday, September 18th to play Williamson College of the Trades.
