Men's Soccer Ranked #9 in USCAA Week 2 Coaches Poll

Dix Hills, NY - The USCAA has announced the Week 2 Coaches Poll Rankings with Five Towns men's soccer coming in at #9 with 162 votes. The team moved up five places, as they were ranked #14 with 117 votes last week. Five Towns is also ranked in a tie for 12th in the USCAA Week 2 Power Rankings.

The Sound has improved to 4-2-1 for the season, and 1-2-1 against HVIAC opponents. The team currently stands at 7th in the USCAA standings and 4th in the HVIAC standings. Five Towns is second in the nation with 48 goals scored in seven games, trailing Penn State Beaver who has scored 52 goals in ten games. Goalkeeper Mouhamed Diop Dia leads the nation with goals-against average of 0.48. 

The men's soccer team has two conference games left on the schedule; against the Vaughn Warriors (1-2) and a big matchup against the #3 ranked Berkeley-NY Knights (7-4-1), who is 3-0 in conference play. Three more weeks remain in the regular season before the top four conference teams travel up to Albany for the HVIAC Championship; the winner of the conference championship gets an automatic bid to the USCAA Championship.

Five Towns has had multiple HVIAC Rookie of the Week nominations throughout the first four weeks of the season:

September 10th Rookie of the Week: Goalkeeper - Mouhamed Diop Dia
September 17th Rookie of the Week: Forward - Adrian Wong
September 24th Rookie of the Week: Midfielder - William Rivera
